Welcome to JAFA Tokyo....

JAFA (The Japan African American Friendship Association) was founded in Tokyo in 1981 by a group of individuals (primarily Japanese and African Americans) in order to promote cross-cultural and multi-cultural events among Japanese and other nationalities.

Initially, JAFA promoted social networking as well as educational and business related programs throughout the year. In 2004, Darrell Gartrell launched a chapter in the Kansai area (Osaka). JAFA is a non-profit organization with the aim of fostering a better understanding among all cultures and nationalities.
